The deal between you and us. It is short on purpose. Using Solar means you agree to it — so it is written to be read, not survived.

The bullets above are a summary, not the agreement. The sections below are the agreement.
These terms are between you and [LEGAL ENTITY], registered at [REGISTERED ADDRESS] ("we", "us"). They cover the Solar web app, the iOS and Android apps, the API, and the MCP server.
If you accept these terms for a company, you are confirming you are allowed to bind that company, and "you" means the company.
Our Privacy Policy is part of this agreement. If you signed a separate written contract with us, that contract wins wherever the two conflict.
Give us a real email address and keep it current — it is how we reach you about security and billing. Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for everything done under your account, including by anyone you invite and any agent you give a token to.
Tell us immediately if you think someone else has your credentials: [SECURITY CONTACT EMAIL].
An organisation owner controls their workspace. They can add and remove members, change what clients can see, and export or delete the organisation's content. If you joined a workspace someone else owns, they hold the keys to it, not you.
You must be at least [MINIMUM AGE] to use Solar.
Short list. Everything on it is the kind of thing that gets an account suspended on the spot.
Security research is welcome if you follow the disclosure process on our security page. Testing against your own workspace, without degrading the service for anyone else, is not a breach of these terms.
You own the issues, documents, files, time logs and everything else you put into Solar. We do not acquire any ownership of it.
You give us the narrow licence we need to actually run the product: to store your content, back it up, transmit it, render it to you and to the people you shared it with, and process it to deliver features you asked for. That licence exists only to operate Solar and it ends when you delete the content or your account, subject to backups rolling off.
We do not sell your content. We do not use it to advertise to you. On whether your content is ever used to train models: [MODEL TRAINING POSITION — state it explicitly].
You are responsible for your content being lawful and for having the right to store it. You can export your data at any time while your account is active.
Solar's MCP server lets an AI agent do the same things you can do in the UI. It uses per-user tokens: an agent holding your token acts with your permissions.
You can connect GitHub, and you can point Solar at outbound webhooks. When you do, you are authorising us to exchange data with that service on your behalf, within the scope you granted.
Those services are run by other companies under their own terms. We do not control them, we are not responsible for what they do with data you send them, and if one of them changes or disappears, the corresponding Solar feature may stop working. Disconnect an integration whenever you like.
The client portal shows a client only the issues explicitly marked client-facing for their project, plus the portal sections you switched on. Deciding what a client sees is your job, not ours.
If you invite clients, you are the one with the relationship to them. You are responsible for having the right to put their data in Solar, and for telling them how you use it. We process it on your instructions.
Prices and what each plan includes are on the pricing page. The specifics of the commercial deal are:
You can cancel at any time. Cancelling stops the next charge; it does not refund the current period unless the refund policy above says so. After cancellation your data stays available for [POST-CANCELLATION DATA WINDOW] so you can export it, and is then deleted.
We aim to keep Solar up and we take outages seriously, but we do not commit to an uptime figure unless your contract says otherwise: [SLA / UPTIME COMMITMENT]. There will be planned maintenance; we give notice when we expect it to be noticeable.
Support runs over [SUPPORT CHANNEL], with a target first response of [SUPPORT RESPONSE TARGET].
Keep your own backups of anything you cannot afford to lose. We back up the database, but that is our disaster recovery, not your archive.
We ship constantly, so features change. If we remove or materially degrade something you rely on, we tell paying customers at least [FEATURE REMOVAL NOTICE PERIOD] in advance. Anything labelled beta can change or disappear without that notice — that is what the label means.
The API and MCP tool surface are versioned and we treat them as additive. Breaking changes get notice of [API BREAKING CHANGE NOTICE PERIOD].
Cancel or delete your account whenever you want — see Deleting your account. No phone call, no retention gauntlet.
We can suspend or close an account if you breach these terms, if we are legally required to, or if your usage is actively harming the service or other customers. Except where the breach is serious or unlawful, we tell you what is wrong and give you [CURE PERIOD] to fix it first.
On termination your right to use Solar stops. You get [POST-TERMINATION EXPORT WINDOW] to export your data, unless we terminated for unlawful use.
Solar is provided as it is. Beyond the guarantees your local law gives you and that we cannot exclude, we make no warranty that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose.
Neither side is liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or lost data beyond what a reasonable backup would have prevented. Our total liability to you in any twelve-month period is capped at [LIABILITY CAP].
Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
You will cover us against third-party claims that arise from your content or from your use of Solar in breach of these terms: [INDEMNITY SCOPE — confirm with counsel].
If you got the Solar app from Apple's App Store, these extra terms apply and override anything inconsistent above:
If you got the app from Google Play, Google Play's terms also apply to that distribution, and Google is not a party to this agreement.
These terms are governed by the law of [JURISDICTION], and disputes go to the courts of [COURTS]. If you are a consumer, this does not take away rights you have under the law of the place you live.
Before anyone goes to court, email us. Most of this gets fixed in a message.
When we change these terms we update the date at the top. For changes that materially affect your rights we email account holders at least [TERMS CHANGE NOTICE PERIOD] before they take effect. If you do not accept a change, cancel before it lands.
Questions about these terms: [LEGAL CONTACT EMAIL], or write to [REGISTERED ADDRESS].
What we do with your data is on the privacy page. How we protect it is on the security page.
